Imaging In Difficult Lighting Conditions

The adverse effects of strong back light, mist or haze can be devastating without effective management or compensation. Canon's proprietary image processing algorithms provide the very best image quality no matter what the light lighting conditions.

Auto Smart Shade Control (Auto-SSC)

Where competitor cameras take a sequence of images at different shutter speeds and combine them into one to resolve scenes containing brightly lit backgrounds, Canon's Auto Smart Shade Control (Auto SSC) makes instant real-time adjustments for improving the visibility of foreground. The net effect is that bright areas stay bright and only the darker areas are lightened, so hard-to-see silhouettes are instantly converted into clearly identifiable objects.

Haze Compensation

Haze compensation adjusts image contrast to make environments with fog, haze of smog easier to see. It can also bring distant scenes captured at high zoom into clear view. The level of compensation can be set to set to Strong Medium or Mild or manually adjusted to attain the optimal results.

Imaging In Colour

The DIGIC DVIII imaging processing engine - also used in Canon's Cinema EOS professional cameras provides exceptional video quality, low noise, smooth gradation plus vivid and accurate colour - regardless of the light source.

Imaging With IR Illumination

In situations with little or no ambient light, the use of invisible infrared lighting is traditionally used to illuminate the scene and allow cameras to capture images in black and white.

Canon's Super UD (Ultra Low-dispersion) lens technology and infrared anti-reflective coatings improves sensitivity, controls ghosting and flare to minimise the loss in focus normally associated with using IR. Clean sharp images naturally captured, require less processing, saving bandwidth and storage costs.

Cameras with in-built IR LEDs, use a dual LED array to illuminate the scene evenly. No matter how near or far the subject may be or how close they are to the periphery, images are correctly exposed and contain the high level of details that translate in to powerful evidence.

Imaging At A DIstance

Adopting High UD (Ultra Low-Dispersion) glass elements of high refractive index, suppress the incidence of chromatic aberration prevalent in high-magnification lens units, minimizes both barrel and pincushion distortion and provides natural-looking images with high edge-to-edge resolution across the zoom range.

The 30x Zoom VB-R Series PTZ cameras enable operators to monitor and record subjects at any distance within the zoom range from infinity to the minimum object distance of 2m (6,6ft).
