Getting sharp hand held shots in fading light

When you are taking handheld photos at night, or in fading light, you will sometimes end up with blurred results. This usually happens because your camera needs a longer exposure time to capture more light.

If you are shooting handheld, try not to use a shutter speed of under 1/60th of a second. Anything less makes it difficult to capture a steady shot. Using a higher ISO will also help capture more of the available light.

Having unsteady hands can also create unwanted blur. Canon's Intelligent Image Stabilizer automatically and effectively corrects common camera shake caused by unsteady hands. So you won't miss that great image, even when on the move.
