United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 16 May 2016 – Canon, world leader in imaging solutions, today announces that FT Solutions has extended its service offering to incorporate 3D printing, having installed its first ProJet® 660Pro. The new division, named FT3D, will establish new 3D services, such as giving customers the opportunity to print photorealistic 3D printed figurines alongside their favourite sports or entertainment celebrity.

Working with some of the world’s biggest brands, FT Solutions has provided communication solutions including print management, digital print and online media for more than 25 years. The company is a Royal Warrant Holder for ‘delivering excellent service and quality’ to the Household of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh and prides itself on innovating and investing in the technology required to deliver such service. Cutting-edge hardware such as the ProJet® 660Pro will allow the company to continue to meet the needs of its customers.

Tom Gurd, Managing Director at FT Solutions, has been considering 3D printing for some time and believes the new business unit could generate in excess of £500,000 revenue in the first year alone. “3D printing represents a huge opportunity, enabling us to expand our offering, provide a new type of service, and achieve a faster time to market for our clients. We already have an exciting pipeline made up of existing and new clients excited to see how the technology can add an extra dimension to their brand marketing and customer interaction proposition,” Gurd explains.

FT Solutions has a close working relationship with Canon, having been a customer for nearly 20 years. Gurd continues, “The team at Canon has in-depth knowledge of our business and technology needs – their consultation has been first class and confirmed that this is absolutely the right partnership for us. We’re excited to be working with Canon as we look to expand our 3D printing proposition in the future.”

The ProJet® 660Pro creates full-colour parts in exceptional high quality. With some of the fastest print speeds available, businesses can transform ideas into reality in hours, at a very low cost per part.
