Dual Pixel CMOS AF - How it works

Dual Pixel CMOS AF is a sensor-based, phase detection Auto Focus (AF) technology designed to provide smooth, high-performance focus tracking and fast autofocus acquisition. It is a unique, Canon-developed technology, that uses two photo diodes per pixel for autofocus and combines them for recording video. This allows accurate focus to be maintained, even with moving subjects, which is vital for 4K UHD capture and makes single operator shooting more efficient.

Touchscreen control and object tracking

The XF705 4-inch touchscreen allows you to perform focus point selection over 80% vertical/horizontal of the imaging area. A selected object in the frame will be tracked as it moves within it.
