These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") apply to the Canon/Red Cross Silent Auction (“Auction”) as described below.

These Terms shall apply between Canon(UK) Ltd. of Woodhatch, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 8BF (“Canon”) and You, the entrant of the Auction (“You”).

By submitting Your entry to participate in the Auction, You agree that You have read, understood and accepted these Terms.

100% of the money raised by this auction will be donated to the British Red Cross.


1.1 The Auction is open for bids between 14.30 GMT on 16 November 2016 and 14.30 GMT 17 November 2016 inclusive.

1.2 To enter the Auction you must send an email with your bid to: the subject header of your email, you must clearly state which of the three available auctions you are bidding for.  Bids must be submitted within the time period shown in 1.2 above.  Bids outside of this period will not be accepted for entry to the Auction.

1.3 Canon cannot be held responsible for any bids not received by the deadline or at all due to technical problems.

1.4 Canon reserves the right to disqualify any individual which, at its sole discretion, it believes has tampered with the bid process or who has breached any terms of this Auction.


2.1 There are three auctions running, the winner will be the highest bid received in each auction.

2.2 Winning bidders will be selected at 15.00 on 17 November 2016.

2.3 Winning bidders will be notified via email and asked to confirm how they will be paying their bid amount.  Winners can either visit the Red Cross shop in Hammersmith (152 Shepherds Bush Road, Hammersmith, London W6 7BD) to pay and collect their item(s) or can pay at any Red Cross shop and Canon will post their item(s) out to them once confirmation of payment is received.  Please note that Canon will only post items out to addresses in the UK.

2.4 Winners will be given seven (7) days to pay their bid amount, if the bid amount is not received within this timescale, the item will be reallocated to the next highest bidder.



3.1 There are three auction lots being offered. The products offered in the lots are used but in good condition.

3.1.1 Canon EOS 100D White + 18-55mm STM Lens + Stella McCartney “Linda” bag
3.1.2 Canon EOS 5D Mark III body only
3.1.3 Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II

All auction lots are offered complete with a 12 month warranty from Canon UK.

3.2 Absolutely no alternatives are available in whole or in part.

3.4 Winning bidders are responsible for any obligations related to their winning of any Auction Lot as may be applicable.


4.1.    Canon (UK) Ltd. is the Data Controller for the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (“DPA”) in respect of any personal data supplied by Participants. Any personal information supplied by entrants will be used and processed by Canon (UK) Limited, its agents or associated group companies solely for the purpose of administering the Auction.

4.2    The personal data provided is held securely and may be transferred on a secure server outside the EEA.


5.1    These terms and conditions and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.


6.1. Canon shall not be liable for any failure to meet these Terms of Auction where such failure is caused by any supervening circumstances amounting to force majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but shall not be limited, to severe weather conditions, fire, flood, war, earthquake, riots, industrial dispute, terrorism, acts of god, or such events that impact supply of any product to be awarded as a Prize or, events that, without fault of either party, render performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution.

6.2. By entering into the Auction, You agree to release and hold Canon harmless from and against any claim or cause of action arising out of participation in the Auction or receipt or use of any Auction lot.
