The new Océ InfiniStream® technology is perfectly suited to the digital production of folding cartons, matching offset in terms of quality, productivity and media versatility, while adding the digital flexibility for true on-demand production and on-the-fly change of text and visuals.
The technology is based on highly mobile, uniform colorants and a heatless wet-in-wet image transfer. Both innovations result in high productivity, top print quality and enhanced cost-effectiveness.
Behind the new technology is a completely new digital liquid toner press architecture that was developed based on the proven offset system geometry – inking system, imaging cylinder and rubber-coated blanket cylinder – that enables variable imaging on all coated and uncoated offset standard papers up to 600 microns in thickness with the look and feel of offset prints.
The modular print tower concept with up to seven colours allows speeds of up to 120 m/min with a 28-inch (711 mm) wide web, resulting in up to 14,400 B2 sheets or 7,200 B1 sheets per hour, irrespective of the number of colours used.
