FESPA 2013

FESPA

At FESPA 2013, held at London’s ExCeL, Canon showcased its full wide format portfolio and announced the launch of several new wide format solutions.

The event marked Canon Europe’s inaugural appearance at FESPA, the largest focused event for the wide format print industry. At the show, Canon demonstrated how, with Océ’s expertise and technology now part of its wide format portfolio, the company is better positioned than ever to help Print Service Providers (PSPs) to extend their service offering and expand their businesses to meet the needs of the fast-growing wide format market.

The new Océ Arizona® 600 series of UV flatbed printers took centre stage for its global debut at FESPA 2013. Four new models – the Océ Arizona 640 GT, Océ Arizona 640 XT, Océ Arizona 660 GT and Océ Arizona 660 XT – make up the range which has been specifically designed for high-volume production environments.

The Océ ColorWave 900®, a concept product showcased for the first time at drupa 2012, was also on show at FESPA 2013, enabling visitors to the Canon stand to take a look into the future of wide format printing. The wide format digital printer combines high-speed Memjet Inkjet technology with proven Océ media input/output capacity and workflow to print at a raw speed of 1,100m2 per hour.

In addition to new products, Canon also showcased customer success stories and a large number of striking wide format applications, inspiring visitors and helping them to identify opportunities to grow their business. Another highlight was the publication of the findings of an addendum to The Bigger Picture: Your customers’ view on the value of print. The research, based on a series of in-depth interviews with buyers of wide format print, revealed a number of interesting findings about what influences how print buyers choose print providers:

  • PSPs are seen as more credible if they can provide samples of work, portfolios, and customer testimonials
  • Cost-competitiveness, lead times and print quality are the three main factors that respondents consider when commissioning wide format printing
