Canon Germany recently hosted a three-day event to introduce customers to its new structure following the completion of the integration of Océ. Called InMotion 2013, the event took place in Mülheim an der Ruhr and was attended by almost 400 guests.
At InMotion 2013, Canon’s extensive portfolio of products and services – from modern office communication to professional document production – was showcased to customers and partners under the banner ‘growth begins with change’. Visitors had the opportunity to see new products (the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C9280 PRO and High Capacity Stacker HCS-F1) and partner finishing solutions (from SDD and FKS), as well as to explore the complete Canon Workflow Program and PRISMA Workflow suites.
A rich seminar program included presentations about the value of print and Canon’s latest insight report, as well as presentations from guest speakers on topics including office communication, business services, professional print, continuous feed and wide format. The seminars were extremely popular and guest feedback was very positive.
One guest speaker was Simone Marhenke, Manager of the German Academy for Print and Media (Akademie Druck & Medien), who spoke about a cross-media project entitled ‘Funtassico’ developed by the Academy to demonstrate the possibilities of cross-media. The fun project used crossmedia to connect classic printed products – printed mugs – and digitally printed products – coasters featuring QR codes – with other digital media by combining offset print, digital print, QR codes, a website and a smartphone app.
Production of a range of applications was demonstrated live at InMotion 2013, with the aim of inspiring customers and helping them to find ways to make their business processes more efficient and effective. The print applications demonstrated included transactional, marketing and advertising, short-run publications, hybrid workflows, technical documentation, photo-rich applications and books-on-demand. Also demonstrated were office topics including serverless authentication, carbon-neutral printing and information management.
Canon Germany will be hosting additional InMotion events in Hamburg in September and Sinsheim in October 2013.
