Canon Club June 2026 prize draw – Portraits photography workshop with Canon Ambassador Clive Booth Itinerary

Day One:

Fly into Birmingham International Airport.

Be collected and taken to The Grand Hotel, Birmingham.

Rest period.

Taken to dinner.

Day Two:

Join Canon Ambassador, Clive Booth for breakfast and an introduction.

Join Tom Rogers, ex principal dancer and now the Birmingham Royal Ballet Creative Digital Producer, in the rehearsal studio at the ballet company. Be given a presentation of Clive and Toms’ work on Birmingham Royal Ballet world’s first medical research into elite dancers’ mental and physical well-being.
Incorporating the importance of photography and moving image as part of BRB content strategy.

Be joined by two elite dancers who will discuss what it means to be an Elite dancer.

Be given the rare and privileged opportunity to attend and photograph in the day-light rehearsal studio, whilst the Company rehearse Swan Lake, with choreographer and pianist.

Lunch.
Taken on a behind the scenes tour of the Company. Including areas for wardrobe, wig, props, pointe shoes etc., as well as backstage and in the wings.

The group will have dedicated one-on-one time with dancers in the media black-out studio. Clive will light the set, and the group will have the opportunity to photograph the dancers, both dancing and in portrait mode. Lighting will be continuous and a dedicated digital technician will be present to download and advise, with Clive Booth, on shoot collective editing and post work.

Early dinner at the Hippodrome Restaurant.

Attend a live performance of Swan Lake.

After the show, the group will be taken back to their hotel.

Day Three:

Breakfast.

The group will visit Canon’s print showroom in central Birmingham.
Clive Booth will explain his colour managed workflow and how he shot and produced his exhibition for World EXPO 2026.

Lunch break.

The group will continue to spend the day learning how to take their work to the next level, focusing on fine art, archival prints on Hahnemühle paper, and using a selection of Canon imagePRO-GRAF printers of various sizes.

Return to the Grand Hotel.

Early dinner.

Day Four:

Breakfast.

The group will be taken to the Birmingham International Airport for their return flights.
