BINOCULAR
BRIGHTNESS

Canon binoculars are designed deliver the best resolution and brightness for a clearer view in lower light.

What’s the best brightness for you?

Canon binoculars offer a range of brightness to give you the clearest possible view during daytime, at dusk or for stargazing.

A brighter view in low light

For a clearer and brighter view in low light or for stargazing choose our larger binoculars with a brighter objective lens, like the 15x50 IS AW.

Daylight viewing

Our more compact binoculars like the 8x25 IS or the 10x30 IS II are bright enough to give you clear daylight views and are great for travelling light.

Understanding binocular brightness

Our binoculars offer objective lens diameters from 25mm (e.g. the 8x25 IS) to the brightest 50mm (e.g. the 15x50 IS AW). Given the same magnification, 10x42 binoculars are approximately twice as bright as a 10x30 pair, 50mm and 42 mm binoculars with a larger exit pupil diameter (the objective lens diameter divided by the magnification) deliver a brighter, wider and clearer view and are bigger and heavier.
