Remote working and home-schooling have been thrust upon us, but the way we’ve been integrating work into our lives has been changing for a while. Lots of us have home offices or commandeer the dining table and many of our couches have seen a Zoom call or ten. We use plenty of cool technology to collaborate across towns, countries and continents, but sometimes every day of ‘The New Normal’ can feel like a school day – even for grown-ups. Things we take for granted, like printing and scanning, are so important but feel like a bit of a hurdle.
Scan to Dropbox, print from Facebook
We call it PIXMA Cloud Link, you’ll probably just call it a godsend. It lets you scan1 to or print from loads of the most popular online storage sites such as Dropbox, Evernote and Google Drive. Just add your documents directly into a workflow of your choice for collaborative working, approvals or just so a colleague can print a copy elsewhere. Or you could just use it to print photos of your sister’s puppy from Facebook and Instagram. I mean, who wouldn’t?
You work, they work, everyone’s happy (ish)
Assignments, schedules, coursework – home schooling really doesn’t need to be any more complicated right now, so our PIXMA Cloud link now also connects to Google Classroom. A service which helps students and teachers organise assignments, boost collaboration, and foster better communication. Through PIXMA Cloud Link, students and teachers can access and print course work, assignments, class lists and rosters either directly from the printer screen or from their smart devices via the Canon PRINT app. No excuses, no procrastination, just another step closer to getting the work done.
As the saying goes… “there’s an app for that.”
And when it comes to remote working, once again, our beloved smart devices come to the rescue! The Canon PRINT app connects you smoothly to your printer, letting you scan and print from your smartphone or tablet (Then send them straight to your smart devices or email), check your printer’s status and link to cloud storage. It doesn’t have a volume control button for your children, but you can use it to print off a few fun projects from Canon Creative Park to keep them occupied while you concentrate.

*Disclaimer: Scan to cloud is only available to genuine Canon ink users.
