Meet the Pro – Mark Robinson
Based in the Northwest of England, Mark Robinson is a sports photographer with more than 30 years of experience, covering some of the world’s biggest sporting events, brands and athletes. His photography career began at a young age on Fleet Street, where he worked as a sports photographer for a national newspaper before developing his talents and moving into the commercial and PR side of elite-level sport.
Over the course of his career, Mark has built a highly respected reputation among brands, talent agencies and production companies for his ability to capture compelling imagery in a wide range of environments. From studio portraits and large-scale filming sets to ringside at world title fights and backstage with elite athletes around the world, Mark brings the same level of creativity, professionalism, and technical expertise to every assignment.
Meet the Pro – Tolga Akmen
Tolga Akmen is a London-based staff photojournalist with EPA Images, covering everything from breaking news and politics to major sporting and cultural events. Originally from Turkey, Tolga moved to the UK to study photojournalism and has since built an award-winning career working with outlets like AFP, The Sunday Times and Financial Times. His work has taken him to high- profile moments including the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II, the coronation of King Charles III and the Paris 2024 Olympics.
This year, Canon brought in some industry experts to share their workflow secrets and best practices. These sessions were super helpful, showing us how to streamline our own workflows from event capture to image delivery, as evidenced by the queue of photographers seeking tips from them. The complimentary parking and coffee are an added bonus.See you next time!“
