Join in the fun at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games with Canon
London, United Kingdom, 26 July 2022 – To celebrate its role as the Official Imaging Supporter of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Canon is implementing a number of fun on-site activations at the Games to engage with fans and families as they enjoy the sporting action.
A number of interactive photo booths will be installed at select Games Venues as well as at Fan sites and in the Athletes’ Villages. The booths will enable fans to enjoy Canon’s free ‘Make a Move’ interactive game – a shape-shifting challenge which asks players to copy a series of sporting poses as accurately as possible.
Imaging technology will capture the participants in action and rate their performance – a keepsake digital photo will then be delivered so that the experience can be shared on social media. The three top highest scoring participants on each booth will also win a Canon SELPHY Square QX10 pocket sized printer, which allows images to be printed easily, direct from a smartphone.
In addition to the photo booths, Canon will be showcasing its exciting PowerShot ZOOM product at the NEC Arena netball events. This pocket-sized, monocular camera shoots stills and Full HD video at the touch of a button and features a 12-megapixel camera with easy-to-use three step zoom. Fans enjoying the Games at the NEC Arena will be able to either loan or buy the technology, allowing them to get even closer to the sporting action.
To capture all of the history-making moments of the Games, from pitch-side to behind the scenes, Canon is also the sponsor of the Games’ Official Image Gallery. This will feature official images from the Games and videos alongside athlete content – allowing fans to get even closer to their favourite teams. With more than a billion viewers expected to tune in all across the world, fan social media images will also feature in the gallery alongside content captured in Canon’s on-site photo booths.
