Canon announces its workshops and masterclasses for the Aesthetica Short Film Festival

London, United Kingdom, 1st November 2022 – Canon UK & Ireland is excited to be attending the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York from 1st to 6th November 2022 where it will showcase its latest Cinema EOS range and join in the celebration of independent film from around the world.

Hosting a collection of workshops and masterclass sessions throughout the event, Canon will give visitors to the Festival the opportunity to explore and gain an understanding of its range of imaging products from compact cameras to the latest Cinema EOS range.

Canon Ambassador, cinematographer, photographer, author and advocate for human rights, Elisa Iannacone will also be holding a masterclass around her journey as a visual artist and the intimacy and connection that underpins her work. Join her at the Yorkshire Museum on Saturday 5th November between 15:00 and 16:00 where she will be sharing her journey from conflict reporter to finding new ways to tell important stories.

Cameras have come a long way in recent years. It used to be that capturing that cinematic quality was only reserved for those with the biggest budgets. During this practical session delegates will be taken through the best camera setup for interviews and get to grips with the professional auto-focus system.

Elisa Iannacone: Exploring Ethics and Cinematography*; In Partnership with Canon

Elisa Iannacone has worked on six continents producing work for clients including, National Geographic, Newsweek, Vice and the BBC. Covering the Rabaa massacre in Cairo, and domestic violence in refugee camps in Iraq her work examines the human condition on the front line of conflict and in the aftermath of trauma. Iannacone will be talking about the intimacy and connection that underpins her process, and her work, to present experiences and feelings through the camera in a way that can empower survivors of abuse by involving them in the creative process.
