Terms and Conditions
1. CANON AND PARTICIPANTS
1.1. This free prize draw is run by Canon (UK) Limited of 4 Roundwood Avenue, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1AF (“Canon”).
1.2. All entrants (“Participants”) must be United Kingdom residents aged 18 or over.
1.3. Employees of Canon, its subsidiary companies, their families, agents and other parties directly involved with this promotion and the sponsorship are not eligible to enter.
1.4. By entering this free prize draw, all Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions unless notified otherwise in writing.
2. PRIZE DRAW AND HOW TO PARTICIPATE
2.1. The free prize draw opens at 00.01 on 1st June 2022 and the closing date is midnight on 30th June 2022 with the draw taking place on the 4th July 2022.
2.2. To be entered into the free prize draw to win a pair of tickets (one (1) ticket for the winner and one (1) ticket for a guest) to the Athletics and Para Athletic event on Sunday 7th August 2022 being held between 10.00 – 13.15 at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, UK including overnight hotel accommodation on Saturday 6th August 2022 in Birmingham for two people to share a twin or double room (including breakfast) (the “Prize”), entrants must visit the dedicated Canon campaign page at https://www.canon.co.uk/competitions/b2022-commonwealth-games/ and submit their contact details via an on-line form between 00.01 on 1st June 2022 and midnight on 30th June 2022.
2.3. One entry per one person.
2.4. Entries received after midnight on 30th June 2022 will not be eligible to be entered into this Free Prize Draw. Canon reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or illegible data capture cards/entries.
3. THE PRIZE
3.1. One (1) winner will be randomly drawn from all valid entries received throughout the period opening at 00.01 on 1st June 2022 and the closing date at midnight on 30th June 2022.One (1) winner will win a pair of tickets (one (1) ticket for the winner and one (1) ticket for a guest) to the Athletics and Para Athletic event on Sunday 7th August 2022 being held between 10.00 – 13.15 at the Alexander Stadium, Birmingham, UK. The prize will also include overnight hotel accommodation on Saturday 6th August 2022 in Birmingham for two people to share a double room or twin room (including breakfast).
3.2. The Prize excludes all costs and expenses incurred by the winner and their guest in accepting and using the Prize, including: (a) travel (b) accommodation, (c) food and beverages and (d) any other sundry expenditure.
3.3. The Prize is non-transferable, and no cash or credit alternatives will be substituted for the prize on offer. In the event that the Prize offered is unavailable due to circumstances beyond our control, Canon reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
4. THE SELECTION
4.1. The winner will be selected from all eligible entries using a random number generator and the winner’s entry confirmed by Canon.
4.2. Canon will contact the winner as soon as practicable after the 4th July 2022 via the email address submitted.
4.3. If Canon receives any rejected or unclaimed Prize from the winner within 10 working days of attempting to make contact by email, the original announced winner will forfeit their Prize.
4.4. The Prize may be awarded to other entrants at the absolute and sole discretion of Canon UK
4.5. The Prize is provided to the winner of the Free Prize Draw in good faith by Canon. If the winner is unable to accept the Prize for any reason, then Canon must be notified as soon as possible.
4.6. Canon must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation Canon will send the surname and county of the prize winner and, if applicable copies of their winning entry, to anyone who emails customer.marketing@cuk.canon.co.uk or writes to Canon (UK) Limited at its registered office address (enclosing a self-addressed envelope) within one month after the closing date stated in condition 2.2. If you object to any or all of your surname, county and winning entry being published or made available, please contact Canon at customer.marketing@cuk.canon.co.uk. In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information and winning entry to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.
5. TICKET TERMS AND CONDITIONS
5.1 The Prize is subject to all applicable ticket terms and conditions and venue entry conditions. The winner and their guest must comply with such terms and conditions and all laws and regulations applicable to the tickets including at: https://www.birmingham2022.com/terms-and-conditions/ticketing/
5.2 If the guest of the winner is a minor, then they should be accompanied by a responsible adult and with their guardian’s consent.
5.3 Canon will have no liability to the winner and their guest if the winner and/or guest are unable to receive the full benefit of the Prize tickets or are denied entry to the venue or asked to leave the venue as a result of failure to observe the ticket terms and conditions and/or venue entry conditions or any applicable laws and regulations.
6. PERSONAL DATA
6.1. Any personal data submitted to Canon will be processed by Canon and its agents or associated group companies for the purpose of administering this free prize draw.
6.2. Participants may be contacted by Canon for the purposes of administrating the free prize draw or in the event that Canon wishes to discuss any other use of the information submitted to the free prize draw.
6.3. Canon (UK) Limited of 4 Roundwood Avenue, Stockley Park Uxbridge UB11 1ET are the Data Controller in respect of any personal data supplied by Participants.
6.4. The personal data provided is held securely and may be transferred on a secure server outside the EEA and the UK. For further details on how Participants’ information is protected please see the Canon Consumer Privacy Policy (here).
7. DISCLAIMER
7.1. In exceptional circumstances, Canon may void the Prize and/or change other promotional conditions provided that such changes are necessary and can be justified by objective reasons.
7.2. Canon reserves the right to refuse to honour any entry or to recover the full value of any Prize if it considers there has been an abuse or breach of the terms and conditions of this free prize draw.
7.3. Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any participant under this promotion. However, nothing in these Terms shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon’s liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of its employees or contractors.
7.4. In the event of a dispute over interpretation or implementation of the rules on any matter related to the free prize draw, the decision of the Directors of Canon is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
7.5. If any part of these conditions is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, then such part shall be severed from the remainder of these conditions, which shall continue to be valid to the fullest extent permitted by law.
8. LAW AND JURISDICTION
The prize draw will be governed by English law and entrants to the prize draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
