New Canon HS System – outstanding picture quality in low light

Canon’s new HS System, already available on the IXUS 300 HS, IXUS 1000 HS and PowerShot G12 dramatically improves image quality in all conditions.



The HS System combines the DIGIC 4 image processor with a new high-sensitivity 10.0MP sensor. This sensor incorporates back-illuminated architecture which lowers noise levels by up to 60% at all ISO speeds¹, allowing you to capture beautiful, high quality photos even in low light.

As well as the latest sensor technologies, the 10.0MP resolution means that each pixel is larger than on higher resolution models. Bigger pixels can capture more light and this increased sensitivity leads to clearer, more refined images with less unwanted noise.

The HS System is in its element in low light conditions such as capturing a well exposed subject against a dark, night-time background or a moving subject when shooting indoors.
